Super Duper Siege is the next project from the Juice Cube team (previous title Horse Riding Classic). It's our first long-term project as a team, and our latest journey into professional indie game development. Design Space is a 2D level editor and player I'm making with an extreme focus on user experience.
I was inspired to try this project after using DigiPen's Basic Level Builder and the Hello Fangaming Mario Editor for my DES-240 level design class and having a lot of ideas for improving the UX of the editor and gameplay (having previously made a 2D platformer).
Gallivant combines platforming gameplay, bullet hell combat, and roguelike progression and items.
I started this project on a whim one weekend after being inspired by watching a video about roguelikes and having recently gotten really into Balatro. I've also been interested in making a bullet-hell platformer for a while, so that became a core element.
After showing the project to some friends at school the next day and getting an extremely positive response, I started developing the project further and bringing on some friends to help with content, art, narrative design, and audio.
The project is currently on pause as we focus on smaller scale projects, but I'm looking forward to return to this project in the future!
